We had a great time at the recent Marriage Matters retreat that we hosted in partnership with Grace Church in Perrysburg. We were joined by newlyweds, nearly-weds and some 50+ year marriages as well. There were about 35 couples in attendance.  Jan Meier, a local Licensed Counselor, led the 4 sessions focused on fairly high level marital advice.

  • Each one of you also must love his wife as he loves himself, and the wife must respect her husband.   Ephesians 5:33
  • Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love. Ephesians 4:2
  • Your love has given me great joy and encouragement. Philemon 7
  • Live happily with the woman you love through the fleeting days of your life. Ecclesiastes 9:9
  • Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ, God forgave you. Ephesians 4:3
  • May you rejoice in the wife of your youth. Be captivated by her love. Proverbs  5:18-19
  • Many waters cannot quench love; rivers cannot wash it away. Song of Solomon 8:7
  • Woman is not independent of man, nor is man I independent of woman. 1 Corinthians 11:11
  • Don’t have anything to do with foolish and stupid arguments, because you know they produce quarrels. 2 Timothy 2:23
  • Let love be your greatest aim. Corinthians 14:1
  • Remember that you and your wife are partners in receiving God’s blessings.  1 Peter 3:7
  • Two are better than one; for they have a good return for their work. Ecclesiastes 4:9
